What is MEDEK?
MEDEK stands for the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association.
The association was established in 2021.
The association was granted accreditation authority for 83 vocational colleges by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) in 2023 to ensure that vocational college programmes comply with established standards, quality criteria, and performance measures.
As of 2025, the Association has accreditation authority for 111 vocational college programmes.
MEDEK's Mission
To contribute to the improvement of education and training quality by providing information, external evaluation and accreditation services for associate degree programmes.
MEDEK's Vision
To be a pioneering organisation that certifies quality by defining the education and research activities/administrative processes of associate degree programmes and the quality of intermediate human resources in line with national and international standards and sharing the results with relevant institutions and organisations.
MEDEK's Objective
To pioneer the training of professional personnel who follow professional developments, can respond to changing labour force needs, possess high professional skills and equipment, are innovative and socially responsible, can take initiative, and possess the qualities sought by the relevant sector.
